Joel Van Dyke, AIA
Freeman & Major Architects is under the leadership of Joel Van Dyke, AIA. Having served as a partner and the Director of Design for fifteen years at Neal Prince+Partners Architects, Joel brings strong design leadership to the firm. From 2003 to 2006, Joel owned and ran Van Dyke Design Group which merged with Freeman & Major in 2006. He is forward thinking and brings cross-disciplinary design thinking skills to the firm’s clients. His project experience ranges from custom single-family residences to large institutional projects. Joel’s work has appeared in a number of regional publications and won numerous design awards. Joel’s work will also appears in the book Perspectives on Design: Carolinas.
Allen Freeman, AIA
Allen Freeman still keeps his hand on the pulse of the company, lending his expertise and experience. Allen, son of the firm’s founder, watched over the practice since his father’s retirement and is well known for his attentiveness to client needs and his strong design skills. Now semi-retired, Allen is active in the community and continues to be involved with new and repeat clients.
